The Baggin’ Waggon is Born

May 27, 2010 in Baggin' Waggon, Bagging Scotland News by Bagging Scotland

We have teamed up with Openroadscotland.com to create a campervan with a difference – The Baggin’ Waggon.

The Baggin' Waggon

Barry, as they would say in Edinburgh.

As you can see, our new baby is a Volkswagen a ‘pop-top’ roof (a big bed up there), a cooker, a sink and a beer…erm milk and fruit juice…fridge. It’s got state of the art Heating, LED lighting, a great sound system, it’s totally shameful secret is that it used to be blue but using the miracles of modern technology, we’re ‘wrapped’ it in a lustrous new white coat.

We’ll be honest and say we were campervan virgins but in our first night in it, overlooking Kennacraig Ferry Terminal, we giggled like a couple of kids as we tried out the lights, switched on the fridge and got a ‘brew’ on. Okay, one of the Bagging Blokes IS a kid, but you know what we mean.

Andy’s got lots more of these babies for hire and we’d urge you to give it a go, it’s a hoot! The act of stopping off in the middle of nowhere, knowing that you’ve no bloody tent to put up and you’ve not got to trawl around, looking for a hotel of dubious or untested quality is a breath of very liberating fresh air.

Scotland’s IDEAL for campervanning as there’s so many places that you can literally just pull over, stare at the amazing seascape/mountainscape/often both at the same time and then drift off to sleep. We met numerous other ‘vanners’ and we loved the camaraderie of it all. We now totally get it and we’re going to be telling everyone all about the merits of it!
