Fi Russell wrote a new blog post: A summer of Bagging Lochs 2010/08/13 1:54 pm
This summer has been a lot about BAGGING LOCHS! * It started earlier this summer with a gorgeous stroll around Loch an Eilein on Rothiemurchus Estate, near Aviemore. It’s a truly beautiful place to go for a walk and the trail is mostly flat and only takes about an hour if you’re walking at chatting speed. [...] -

If you haven’t heard about Stephen Pyke (Spyke) and is amazing Munro round in just 39 days and 9 hours then why no t read a blog I wrote earlier . Now, every time that you find yourself whinging a wee bit about the trek to the top of one Munro think how much pain Spyke must [...]

To Around Scotland… Someone sent me a comment (I didn’t post it!) that seemed to suggest I write without proper use of punctuation etc. I thought I’d find out what they were on about. I was a bit annoyed about their suggestions! Sorry for the confusion! And thanks for your concern!

Fi Russell wrote a new blog post: 3 Munros in the bag in one day 2010/05/31 6:22 pm
One Munro can sometimes be tough enough to summit on its own. Sometimes you can head out for a really challenging day and tick off a few in one go. In one winter outing The G-Force and I actually reached the top of five Munros in one day, followed by two the next day and a [...] -
Fi Russell wrote a new blog post: Happy birthday weekend of bagging 2010/05/19 2:45 pm
Some people like to kick back and laze around on their birthdays. Others might head off abroad for a weekend of city-based sightseeing. Then there are those who like to head out for drinks with a big group of pals. I can see the appeal of all these celebrations – but I much prefer to spend [...] -

If you’ve never tried ski touring (and I hadn’t until this winter) then really you should. It is by far the best way to bag Munros while there’s snow on the ground. And thanks to an unusual amount of snow this season ski touring has become a really popular pursuit in Scotland. The guys at Mountain [...] -

Read my article in Scotland Outdoors magazine about 21 natural wonders of Scotland that you really should visit. There are more than a few islands mentioned. And why not start bagging waterfalls? Scotland is great at awesome waterfalls. See Number 6. Plus you’ll no doubt find a castle or a distillery within a short distance of most of [...] -
Fi Russell wrote a new blog post: Upside down at Neidpath Castle 2010/03/22 11:03 am
There has been a castle of some sorts at Neidpath, about a mile west of the Borders town of Peebles and overlooking the River Tweed, since around 1265. The latest incarnation, built and added to in the late 14th century, is now a partial ruin but the fortification still maintains a look of power and [...] -

Isle of Tiree, Inner Hebrides. Bagged with Little Miss Outdoors. Ooh, we love the huge, white beaches and gorgeous seascapes on this oh-so-flat, family-friendly isle. Went body boarding and surfing and flew a big kite. Could have done with a bit more wind and a tad more sun but it was still well worth the trek to this remote part of Scotland.…[Read more]

For the record, I’ve done a whole lot of bagging already. Munros, distilleries, islands, castles, Corbetts – and in many cases I reckon I’ve the photographic evidence to prove it. Hmm. But will it count if these ”bags” came B.B.S (Before Bagging Scotland)? What do you Chief Bagging Scotland guys reckon?

Fi Russell wrote a new blog post: FionaOutdoors has bagged before 2010/03/19 11:03 pm
In my life B.B.S (Before Bagging Scotland) I have bagged a fair few castles, distilleries, islands and Munros. I usually travel by foot or bike and sometimes by kayak or skis. Now I wish I’d been much more snap happy with my camera. I’m not sure I have the required photographic evidence for all all-important bags. [...]
For some it might be enough to summit a Munro – and to mark the occasion with a nice flask of tea and a sandwich. But sometimes the effort deserves a little more celebration. Perhaps a wee dram of whisky, or a kiss with a loved one. Or how about a headstand or a snow angel?

If there is evidence to prove your achievements, then B.B.S. or not, you have still bagged it! When documenting your Bagging achievements on your blog, you can adjust the date of your blog post according to the date you actually bagged it so they appear in chronological order.
Looking forward to seeing the evidence,
