    This is the first glimpse of Inverie on the kNoydart peninsula, if you can spot a tiny wee white line at the bottom of the hill, thats it!

    Urquart Catle on Loch Ness, a cracking ruin and good visual representation on the centre. After the presentation the curtains open with great views to the castle (sorry if I spoilt the ending for you)
    Watch out for Nessie when you’re there.

    Mugdock Castle,near Milngavie. There are 2 ruins in the country park, one older than the other. You can walk round one but the other is cordoned off for safety. The newer one was used as a zoo at one point and there are photos of it in the visitor centre, and you can still see where the cages were aginst the rocks just up the path from…[Read more]

    Buchanan castle, near Drymen. Held Rudolph Hess during the war as a prisoner of war when he parachuted in and was captured. Is well hidden and a ruin, but very atmospheric.
