In case no one knows, it’s 3 weeks to the Moniaive Folk Festival. This is it’s 10th year so something to celebrate. Moniaive is magic place – really it is; come and see for yourself. I shouldn’t really be sharing this secret with you all, but I’m amongst friends. Shh don’t tell everyone!

A St Andrew's Day Holiday: 2011/04/06 4:59 pmIf USA can have Tartan Day to celebrate all things Scottish, surely we can have St Andrew’s Day. Though I’ve been thinking maybe 6 April is even more important after all we know the singning of the Declaration of Arbroath to be one of the most significant moments in Scottish history – should we change tack and go for 6th April? What do you think?

Important day today folks – 6 April 1320 was the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath aimed at confirming Scotland as an independent, sovereign state. It’s called after Arbroath as it’s believed to have been writtne there by the Abbot of Arbroath. So there’s more to Arbroath than its smokies!
