Yeah, especially if the dog has been stopping every 5 yards to relieve itself on the way down the path – last thing u need is a wee bit of dogpoop in the eye!

Feel like im getting my cycling mojo back a little and will be heading out for another wee jaunt at the weekend to get the old legs pumping again… the technique never fades ;)

The trails up round Mugdock are excellent fun. I’ve ridden a few of them but got so many more yet to discover. Just got to be careful where you are riding as Mugdock Wood and Drumclog Moor are designated as SSSIs and are therefore protected conservation areas. The wood is an undisturbed ancient woodland and along with the moorland they support a variety of rare plants and invertebrates. Stick to the designated trails and it all will be okay though :)

Is it not full of dog walkers up there?
Nothing worse than flying down a mud trail and getting caught behind some old biddy walking their dog :)

5 Snakebites? Holy Snake! Low tyre pressures? or just crazy riding?!

In reply to - Ray Burr posted an update in the group Biking Baggers : Anyone been out and about bagging the TCs listed below? I hit Kirroughtree at the weekend. It just wasn’t my day though. A total of 5 snakebites on both front and rear wheels. Spent more time trying to fix or swapping out inner tubes than tearing it [...] · View

Inspirational, so much so that me’n'ma wee bro went Bagging by Bike as soon as we saw this!

We cycled to Mugdock Castle, a nice easy journey to begin with – Here’s our evidence.

Forward planning, Ray, i like it! You’ll need to get one of those one-wheel-extensions (like a wee bike with just a back wheel) for when the bairn gets older – they clamp on fairly easy to your seatpost i think…

The A9 is possibly the most ridiculous road in THE WORLD, never mind in Scotland. Simply put; A Killer.

It’s confusing even when you *know* it. Why on earth are there dual carriageway sections that last for all of 250 yards? By the time you pull out to overtake even a 30mph campervan, it’s time to pull straight back in again and most people hit panic stations immediately! No wonder there are so many accidents (and fatalities) on the A9. Hopefully one day someone will see sense and sort it out.

Duke’s Pass (A821) to/from Aberfoyle and Brig O’ Turk is a good place to start… nice flowing curves and kept fairly well because of alternate and more efficient routes for HGVs.

  • Ramsay MacFarlane posted an update in the group Driving Heaven:   2 months, 3 weeks ago · View

There are so many! Most of the decent roads in the ’south’ are unfortunately completely ruined this year with the cold winter and higher traffic. Venture northwards and its a different story though, nice tarmac, virtually untouched by HGVs.
